Overcomer

We are More Than Conquerors

Fear is the opposite of faith. If you are a christian and you are living in fear then you need to start learning about faith. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind  (2nd Timothy 1:7).  There is no where in the Word of God does it say to be fearful.  The only time that God mention fearful people is when He talks about the wicked.   The faithless are fearful (Mark 4:40).  I know some will say, fear God, but that’s a different kind of fear.  That’s is a reverential kind of fear.   Its the kind of fear that if someone know that they are doing  something wrong they fear getting caught and paying the consequences.

The fear you are not suppose to have, to give a few examples, is the fear where you can’t sleep, can’t think straight, worry, fear of death, fear of man, fear of flying (usually the fear of death).  Fear is a spirit and we need to fight it in the spirit.  If you are fearful in any area of your life you need to find out what the  word says about it and start speaking the word over that fear.  Fear has torment.  If something is tormenting you then know that it is fear.

Why are you fearful?

  • We are fearful because we are not walking in love.  There is no fear in love; but perfect love cast out fear.
  • You are not walking by faith – The faithless are fearful (Mark 4:40).

The Word says if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are past away, behold all things become new.  You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

What to do?

Understand who you are in Christ:
Present your body as a living sacrifice to God. Know that you are crucified with Christ and its not you that live but Christ that lives in you.  If you understand that the creator of heaven and earth lives in you and we live in Him (For in Him we live and move and have our being; … For we are also His offspring. Acts 17:28) why would you fear anything.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ,… (Romans 8:14-17 )

What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] [Ps. 118:6.] … Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love?
Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword? Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter. [Ps. 44:22.]  Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.  For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31, 35-39).  Glory to God!!!  If this doesn’t make you excited I don’t know what will.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1st John 4:4, 5:4-5).

Spend time in the Word:
Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”  Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words… (John 14:22-23).  Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

What happen to those that overcome

He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.  He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. (Rev 3:21, 21:7)
