We are sons:
Some of the things I’m going to say might shock some people, but if you open your spiritual hears and study the Word of God revelation knowledge will come. In the book of Acts Paul speak of those that believed, in that when they heard the Word they received it with a ready mind. “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so (Acts 17:11). I recommend that you spend time in the Word of God and be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
We must understand what Jesus really did for us. He didn’t just died for our sin, he redeemed us back into the family of God. When God formed us out of the dust of the earth and breath into us the Spirit of God, we were suppose to live forever. We were never suppose to die, but because of disobedience sin took over and we died spiritually and eventually died physically. Jesus (the Word), who is the second Adam came in the form of flesh so He could redeem us back to the Father. He came so that we could become sons of God. Yes, when you accept Christ you are put back into son-ship. We were with the Father from the beginning. We existed before we were ever flesh and blood. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13). Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee (Jeremiah 1:5). Why would the Father say He knew us before we were formed in the belly, because we were with the Father from the beginning. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:4-6).
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. that means there is a second, third, fourth, one millionth, you get the picture. (Romans 8:29). If Jesus is the first begotten, then there has to be a second, third, fourth and so on. I don’t know which one of the begotten I am, but I’m in there somewhere.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1 John 3:1-3). We are sons of the most high, we are joint heirs with Jesus the Christ.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (1st Corinthian 13:12 ).
Here is the prayer that Jesus prayed right before He went to the cross.
